JEANNE SILVER FUNDRAISER: A THANK YOU!

Even though Jeanne Silver has struggled financially for quite a while, she resisted asking us for help. When we finally convinced her to accept assistance, boy… did you all show up. This morning when we closed the fundraiser, more than 150 of you had given generously.

In the last few weeks, we’ve collectively raised $6,800 for Jeanne, bringing the total raised by our fundraisers for golden age adult stars to over $25,000!

Jeanne sent us this message to thank all of you who have provided help:

“To be honest I’m totally gobsmacked at how much love and support I’ve received from so many people… no, not people… friends!

I’ve always found myself the caregiver so asking for help (and admitting I needed it) was a huge step for me.

I’m truly blessed and humbled to be lifted up. I can never thank you all enough for being present in my life.

Thank you all so very much!

With lots of love and tons of Hugs,
Jeanne Silver”

The Rialto Report / Tgaaf would like to add our thanks to Jeanne’s to all of you who so generously donated (including those that wish to remain anonymous).

Those who donated $40 or more will receive a signed photo from Jeanne.

Thank you.  You are fine, fine people.

THE JEANNE SILVER FUNDRAISER!

In conjunction with The Rialto Report, the Jeanne Silver fundraiser is live until December 1st

Jeanne Silver is a Rialto Report favorite and her interview with us remains incredibly popular. We looked for Jeanne for almost ten years before we finally found her. When we did connect, we were worried about her reaction, especially as we’d heard she had a young daughter she was trying to protect. But we found Jeanne to be one of the warmest, kindest and most open people we’ve ever met. Not only did she agree to share her story with us, but we’ve been lucky enough to become friends with Jeanne. Her daughter Irene even modeled our Rialto Report t-shirts that were available for a limited time.

Jeanne has struggled financially for a time. We previously suggested a fundraiser, but she is fiercely independent and shies from help (even though she’s the first to give it). But recent circumstances have just become too much. Jeanne requires major dental work and faces spinal surgery in the coming months, all without sufficient health insurance. She’s in significant pain but refuses to take drugs even though she feels she may be on the cusp of depression.

In addition to her health issues, Jeanne’s car is no longer operational. Because she lives in a location without adequate public transportation, this means Jeanne is struggling to work. And did we mention what that work is? Jeanne has dedicated her later life to assisting the elderly, helping them with tasks like shopping and doctors’ appointments and house cleaning. And perhaps just as important, Jeanne spends time in conversation with those she helps and listens to their stories – offering them companionship many no longer get. This work includes helping her own mother who Jeanne supplies with groceries from the limited money she earns.

To top this all off, Jeanne is being evicted from her home right as the holidays roll around. With little time and few resources, Jeanne needs to find a new place to live for herself and the adopted pets she cares for and loves dearly.

So, we finally convinced Jeanne to let us and her generous fans help her. When we pushed the topic, Jeanne answered “I hate asking but I’m in a pit and can’t dig myself out on my own this time. I want to be that happy person that I know is buried under this mess. I miss me.”

Please show Jeanne how much she is loved and appreciated. As you know we do not accept advertising on The Rialto Report and never charge for the original content we offer every week. We’ve had many people ask us how they can thank us for the work we do – these fundraisers are the answer. In conjunction with the Golden Age Appreciation Fund, we’ve raised almost $20,000 for people like Sharon Mitchel, Kay Parker, Tom Byron and George Payne – all because of your generosity.

No amount is too small – but as an extra incentive, every donation $40 and above will receive a personalized signed photo from Jeanne. And the donor who gives the most by the end of the fundraiser will receive a signed prosthetic leg previously worn by Jeanne. It’s hard to imagine a better conversation piece in your home!

This fundraiser will remain open until Friday December 1st but please don’t wait. Show your appreciation for Jeanne right now using the Donate link below.

And thank you as always for your generosity. We are so grateful for your willingness to help.

THIS FUNDRAISER IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you to all who helped!

THE TOM BYRON FUNDRAISER RESULTS!

Tom Byron Fundraiser: <br />A Thank You
Thanks to you we raised a total of $5,800 for Tom. (This brings the total raised by our fundraisers for golden age adult stars to over $18,000).

Tom sent us this message to thank you:

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the greatest cause in human history – ME!

Seriously, thanks to all who donated, however big or small the gift. It’s nice to realize that there are people who appreciate us old fucks! To know my work over the past 30+ years has made an impact on many people’s sexual upbringing makes me very happy.

It’s been a great ride, thanks again for making the road that much smoother!

Yours in smut,
Tom Byron.

Many, many thanks to all of the people listed below who donated (plus several very generous anonymous folk too) – we are overwhelmed by your generosity:

TOM BYRON FUNDRAISER!

Tom Byron: A Fundraiser

Tom Byron: A Fundraiser

The Golden Age Appreciation Fund is once again teaming up with The Rialto Report. This time in efforts to help veteran performer and director Tom Byron!

Info from The Rialto Report page:

Last week we released our podcast interview with Tom Byron, and since then have received feedback from so many of you.

We knew there was a lot of affection for Tom, but we’ve been overwhelmed by the response the interview elicited. Many of you sent us emails describing how you felt you’ve grown up with Tom since the early 1980s. You’ve followed his career over the years – seeing him change from an awkward teenager to a mullet-haired rocker and ultimately a veteran of the industry. It’s been like watching a favorite soap star evolve over time.

A number of you also asked if there was anything that could be done to help Tom today. For those who haven’t heard the podcast, (spoiler alert…) Tom is now driving for Uber but has had to rent a vehicle as he hasn’t been able to afford a down payment to buy a car. He’s working long hours on the road to save up, but it’s a very slow process.

As a result of your messages, we’re taking a pause on new Rialto Report content this week to instead launch a fundraiser to raise money for Tom’s car down payment.

Long time fans of The Rialto Report will know that we are joint founders of the The Golden Age Appreciation Fund that has raised over $12,000 to date for industry figures like Sharon Mitchell, Kay Parker, Eric Edwards, and George Payne.

We have a policy at The Rialto Report of not accepting any advertising or free merchandise because we want you to enjoy our site free of any commercial interference. If you’ve enjoyed any of our recent articles, photos, or podcasts and are able – and we absolutely understand that not everyone might be – we hope you’ll consider making a donation to Tom using the link below. No amount is too small.

100% of the money raised will go directly to Tom.

Needless to say, Tom is very grateful for this initiative and wishes to convey his appreciation to everyone who has written to us and him since the podcast.

The fundraiser will be active until Easter weekend – Friday 14th April, 2017.

Thank you for your support. Seriously. We don’t take it for granted.

THIS FUNDRAISER IS NOW CLOSED! Thank you to everyone who supported!
