SHARON MITCHELL FUNDRAISER

We recently heard that one of our all-time favorites, Golden Age actress Miss Sharon Mitchell, has recently been going through a very tough time.

Since the end of her AIM organization a few years ago, she moved into a rural area in the country outside of Los Angeles where she has struggled to find work.

After several years of looking, Mitch finally found work with a nearby AIDS advisory service this summer, but shortly after she started work there she crashed her motorbike. She was badly hurt in the accident – and the bike was almost a complete write-off.

Making matters worse, she needed the bike to commute to her job, and Sharon has not been able to afford the cost of the repairs so the bike remains with the repair shop.

Without the bike, Mitch will not be able to stay in work – and she badly needs the income to survive.

We’d like to help get Mitch back on her feet, and appeal to everyone this holiday season to assist us achieve this goal.

Please give generously and together we can make a difference.

ANNETTE HEINZ FUNDRAISER

Newport Kentucky resident Annette Heinz was born on April 25, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She dropped out of high school in the 11th grade to attend Cosmetology School, and while Heinz was waiting on her license to arrive she saw an ad placed in the Sunday Cincinnati Enquirer by a local 28 year old entrepreneur named Larry Flynt. He was looking for go-go dancers for a new venue called the Hustler Club. Her life changed that day. She was just sixteen years old.

As she grew up and became a headliner in the boom-chicka-boom world of Burlesque, she drove all over the country, entertaining sold out packed houses and eventually landing in New York, where she met the king of porn cinema, Gerard Damiano. Gerry cast her in 1982's Consenting Adults, and from there she began getting attention from other legendary adult filmmakers.

Settling down in the big apple, Annette then spent much of the 1980s appearing in various XXX features during the tail-end of the shot-on-film era, and was there as shot-on-video began to take a stranglehold on the medium. Miss Heinz and her filmography are ripe for rediscovery today, especially being as she is one of the kindest and most gentle souls we've had the good fortune to know.

Recently Annette has fallen on some hard times. To help supplement her small fixed income she attempted to take on a tenant who helped himself to her valuables (which she was to sell to help pay her bills) and left her home with a severe pest issue. Her 100 + year old home also has some structural damage that is in desperate need of repair.

The Golden Age Appreciation Fund is hoping to raise at least $1000 to help Annette get back on her feet and every donation of any amount is tremendously appreciated.

In the spirit of giving TGAAF would like to give back to those who donate as a token of our appreciation.

For any donation of $50 or more you will be sent a vintage adult magazine and a copy of Cinema Sewer (while supplies last).

Donations of $75 or more you will also receive a classic adult movie DVD (while supplies last).

Please note that these items are selected at random and are being paid for and provided by TGAAF and that all monies collected will go directly to Annette Heinz. Due to the high costs of international shipping these incentives are unfortunately only available to ship within North America.

The fundraiser ends Sunday October 18, 2015. We will announce the grand total and the names of the generous donors when the fundraiser is complete. If you wish to remain anonymous please let us know.

George Payne Fundraiser

George Payne is one of the most recognizable stars of the golden age of adult film in New York.

After making his debut in Jerry Douglas' seminal gay porn film 'The Back Row' (1973), George became a regular on porn sets for the next 20 years. He appeared in some of the genre's most famous movies - including 'The Tale of Tiffany Lust', 'Tigresses and Other Man-eaters', 'American Desire', 'Public Affairs' and 'Puss n Boots' - working with all the best directors along the way.

He's perhaps best remembered for his intense and manic portrayals of psychopaths in a series of roughies including 'The Story of Prunella' and 'Oriental Techniques in Pain and Pleasure'.

George met his wife Diane over 30 years ago when Diane was a mainstream film industry casting agent. They were married shortly afterwards and lived an apartment in Queens. Both worked hard, were reliable, and were well-liked in the industry.

Ashley West met George in 2005 when he was working as a cleaner at a gym in Queens. Retired from films, George was exercising there every day and keen to develop a fitness video for senior citizens.

Despite his on-screen 'crazy' persona, George is one of the most gentle people you could hope to meet. He's thoughtful, polite and considerate - he never forgets anyone's birthday - and prefers to enquire about your well-being rather than talk about himself.

In late 2014, George and Diane were evicted after being unable to afford their rent and moved into a shelter. It was a unpleasant experience which became even more difficult when Diane underwent surgery for breast cancer. Diane required additional procedures at the beginning of 2015 and with the struggles to pay for Diane's medication they moved down to Florida seeking a lower cost of living.

Staying with friends before moving to temporary housing, life has remained tough as George stopped working to spend his time with Diane as they struggle to pay for her regular medication. The two are seeking more permanent accommodations and are keen to move back to New York but with their limited funds the options seems slim.

The Golden Age Appreciation Fund believes that George Payne, a legend of American Adult films who is too proud to ask for help himself, is more than worthy of being our direct focus of our current fundraising efforts to help he and his wife Diane get back on their feet. Our goal is to raise enough money for a deposit, so that the couple can sign a proper lease and secure their immediate future.

For more information on the career of George Payne, we recommend this Rialto Report podcast.

This fundraiser is active through July 19, 2015 and is now closed. Thank you to all those that supported.

Kay Parker fundraiser update!

Kay Parker has found herself a place to call home thanks to the wonderful generosity of all the donors. Here's some words from Kay:

February 24th, 2015

Dear friends,
It’s been exactly a month since I moved into my beautiful new home.

It’s a little piece of paradise just a short distance from Burbank and yet it feels like country.  I hear horses, sheep, goats, peacocks, cats and dogs plus so many different bird species. Around here, I mused to myself the other day, people walk their dogs but also their horses, and stop for chats with neighbors along the way.

What it took to get me here:

An old friend and mentor (who is no longer with us) used to say to me “to whom much is given, much is expected” – an adage many of us may have heard before, but when he said it to me, his eyes would bore into my third eye and I knew there was a deep message there for me to realize.  I am reminded of this every day and I’m grateful for the (not so subtle) reminders of what it did in fact take to get me here.  Life lessons and what we must learn to fulfill our soul’s agreements – this is what our experiences are all about. And for me, because I am a teacher and mentor, I really have to “get it” in order to help others.

So here are a few of the things I can share from my challenges, some of them may be familiar to you: Stop judging, yourself and others! Be kind, generous and compassionate towards yourself and others. Receive and give equally and unconditionally. Everything happens in the right time. Be willing to do whatever it takes to unify – on the inside – and to heal your wounds and areas where you may have disconnected.  (By the way, I can help you with this – it’s what I do and, if I may say so, I am expert at it!)  You are magnificent and powerful!

Please know how grateful I am for your support . I give thanks every day for the amazing grace I received from you. Thank you so very much again and again for your generosity. I so hope your lives are full of love.

Much love to each of you.

Kay

And here are a couple pictures of Kay's lovely view:

Once again... the Golden Age Appreciation Fund wants to thank all those who helped with this fundraiser for Kay. Your love and generosity has been amazing!

Updates!

Kay Parker has been diligently seeking a new place to live thanks to your generosity. Although she hasn't found her new home yet, she is optimistic and continues her search. We hope to have good news from her soon.

Currently we plan to do 2-3 fundraisers a year so we can maximize the needs of each fundraising effort and to not over saturate the need for donations. At this time we are evaluating our options for the next effort coming in a few months. Until then please be sure to sign up for our emailing list on the right and be sure to join our facebook page as well.

Once again, thank you for your support!

The Results of the Kay Parker Fundraiser!

What a truly amazing success this fundraiser has been thanks to all the generous fans, friends and colleagues of Kay Parker. 87 donors from around the world showed their compassion and support and others who were unable to give monetarily helped spread the word. None of this would have happened without each and every one of you. The end result far exceeded our expectations here at TGAAF and we are so very proud to reveal the grand total raised within 3 weeks:

$3144.02

Kay sends this special message to everyone:

A Huge Thank You!

To all my dear friends who contributed to this amazing gift, I thank you most sincerely! I am deeply moved by the support and compassion I feel. Many people have experienced hardship of late so I know I’m not alone. I’ve used this time to really acknowledge some very old and suppressed emotions and “heartbreak” and I urge everyone to do likewise. It’s so important to our health to do so. I am humbled and so very grateful, thank you again.

Blessings and love and a very happy new year,

Kay

(Kay hopes to be able to provide us with a video "thank you" shortly as well)
