TOM BYRON FUNDRAISER!

Tom Byron: A Fundraiser

The Golden Age Appreciation Fund is once again teaming up with The Rialto Report. This time in efforts to help veteran performer and director Tom Byron!

Info from The Rialto Report page:

Last week we released our podcast interview with Tom Byron, and since then have received feedback from so many of you.

We knew there was a lot of affection for Tom, but we’ve been overwhelmed by the response the interview elicited. Many of you sent us emails describing how you felt you’ve grown up with Tom since the early 1980s. You’ve followed his career over the years – seeing him change from an awkward teenager to a mullet-haired rocker and ultimately a veteran of the industry. It’s been like watching a favorite soap star evolve over time.

A number of you also asked if there was anything that could be done to help Tom today. For those who haven’t heard the podcast, (spoiler alert…) Tom is now driving for Uber but has had to rent a vehicle as he hasn’t been able to afford a down payment to buy a car. He’s working long hours on the road to save up, but it’s a very slow process.

As a result of your messages, we’re taking a pause on new Rialto Report content this week to instead launch a fundraiser to raise money for Tom’s car down payment.

Long time fans of The Rialto Report will know that we are joint founders of the The Golden Age Appreciation Fund that has raised over $12,000 to date for industry figures like Sharon Mitchell, Kay Parker, Eric Edwards, and George Payne.

We have a policy at The Rialto Report of not accepting any advertising or free merchandise because we want you to enjoy our site free of any commercial interference. If you’ve enjoyed any of our recent articles, photos, or podcasts and are able – and we absolutely understand that not everyone might be – we hope you’ll consider making a donation to Tom using the link below. No amount is too small.

100% of the money raised will go directly to Tom.

Needless to say, Tom is very grateful for this initiative and wishes to convey his appreciation to everyone who has written to us and him since the podcast.

The fundraiser will be active until Easter weekend – Friday 14th April, 2017.

Thank you for your support. Seriously. We don’t take it for granted.

THIS FUNDRAISER IS NOW CLOSED! Thank you to everyone who supported!

There is also a documentary on Margold coming soon.

CARTER STEVENS NEEDS OUR HELP!

Golden Age director Carter Stevens is in a rough place and can use a hand.

He has started a gofundme page:

I am a retired film maker, 72 and living on a fixed income (social security) My career was cut short in my 60s by a massive heart meltdown. My grown son has also had health problems which made it impossible for him to work and he has been living with me on my little income. He has recently had spinal fusion and will be unable to work for at least another 3-6 months.

This week we got hit by a double whammy. My car (which is a clunker anyway) died leaving us with no transportation and to top it off my well which supplies our water is dying and the well pump will probably need to be replaced any day.

Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not asking for nothing in return although any string free donations will be gratefully accepted. I am selling autographed DVD copies of many of my films and for anyone who can see their way clear to pitch in $75 or more an autographed copy of a brand new one sheet poster from one of my films. If you don't know my name or my work I am listed on IMDb and you can find my page on facebook under The Films of Carter Stevens.

Please give us a hand before we are without transportation and water.

Let's step up and help him out.

Visit Carter's gofundme page to donate.

Visit Carter's facebook page to contact him for DVDs and posters

For more info on Carter and his career check out his podcast episode at The Rialto Report.

LAURIE SMITH COULD USE OUR HELP!

Golden Age actress Laurie Smith has started a Gofundme page trying to raise money to replace a medical device she desperately needs to help control the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis and keep her healthy.

We've seen her work in Olympic Fever, Sex Wars, Ultra Flesh, Blonde Heat and many more. She is only asking for $1500 but has only managed to gather less than a third of that in 2 months. Let's get busy, donate as we can and help spread the word so we can not only get her to her goal but surpass it so that she can get whatever else she may need to help keep her healthy and comfortable.

Donate here!

Eric Edwards thank you

To all of you who have contributed or commented on my behalf… thank you so much. You have not only warmed my heart, given me hope, but have helped me through a rather difficult time in my life.  At the age of 70 and having my son leave the nest with his girlfriend– Hey, it had to happen sometime, right?– I found myself in a bit of a pickle with bills and such until I can find a suitable roommate.

I also want to thank The Rialto Report and The Golden Age Appreciation Fund for putting up this fundraiser for me. At first, I was a little embarrassed to ask for help, but they convinced me that there would be people out there that would want to contribute to my cause. And, it seems that I got an overwhelming response.

I also want to give a special thanks to Annie Sprinkle for giving her final “Tit Print” to the lucky fan who received it.  I’ve never seen one, but I hear that they are VERY interesting (And so are her REAL boobies)!!!

Through my lengthy career, I have felt such love and admiration not only from my crews and cast, but also from my fans. It’s been a pretty wild and crazy ride to say the least! Now, after battling cancer twice, I just kick back and enjoy the memories in my mountain home, or feed the geese at our local pond, or climb up to a lookout rock and commune with Mother Nature. Also, with an occasional and enjoyable visit from a younger generation film crew that comes up to the fresh mountain air to interview me. In fact, if you would like to see what an old friend put together for my 65th birthday:

Somehow, five years later, these wonderful contributions from everyone makes me feel like I’m having a birthday all over again. Perhaps, if you look closely, you might even recognize some of the movies that the stills came from.

To those of you who have been waiting for an autobiography from me, I began one, got halfway through before my memory began to fail. Perhaps a co-writer can jump start the Golden Age for me again.

And, if anyone would like to contact me personally, I’d love to hear from you.  I answer all of my email– robeverett@sbcglobal.net
Sincerely,
Eric Edwards

ERIC EDWARDS FUNDRAISER IS NOW CLOSED!

Thank you to all of the generous donors and everyone who helped support the fundraiser for Eric Edwards. We will announce the grand total and the list of amazing donors shortly.

Once again, your generosity is astounding and mere "thank you's" can't fully express our appreciation for the support of TGAAF.
